ABOUT ME 

As a young child growing up in Ramsey, Minnesota, Tommy Steffen was drawn to the outdoors and the beauty of nature. He began exploring the Rum River at an early age, and his love for fishing soon took hold. As he spent more and more time on the river, he became captivated by the smallmouth bass, one of the most challenging freshwater fish in Minnesota.

Tommy's passion for fishing continued to grow throughout his childhood and into his teenage years. He spent countless hours on the river, learning every nook and cranny and developing a deep understanding of the fish he sought. Over time, he became an expert in catching smallies, using a variety of techniques and strategies to outsmart these elusive fish.

After graduating from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2024, Tommy began his professional career at Trott Brook Financial in Anoka, Minnesota, where he works as a Financial Planning Assistant. In September of 2025, Tommy married his high school sweetheart, and the couple purchased their first home together in Oak Grove.

In addition to his career, Tommy has continued to pursue his passion for fishing. After starting his own guide service in 2021, he provides clients with unique and unforgettable fishing adventures along different stretches of river in Minnesota. Tommy's expertise and knowledge of the river are unparalleled, and he takes great pride in sharing his skills with others.

When he's not guiding clients or fishing for himself, Tommy enjoys exploring the great outdoors, hunting for turkey, deer, and pheasant. He also loves playing golf, basketball, and soccer, and is always up for a new challenge or adventure. Tommy's dedication to his craft and his love for the outdoors make him an exceptional guide and an inspiration to all who know him.
